AuSable Valley High School Principal's Message

As the summer draws to a close, the faculty and staff are eagerly planning and preparing for the 2007-2008 school year. We look forward to a fresh new school year for every student that walks through our doors on September 6. Our mission at AuSable Valley High School is to educate the hearts and minds of the young men and women entrusted to our care during the school day. Our academic goals are to build lifelong learners who demonstrate a thirst for knowledge, the highesPrincipal Mrs. Laura Marlowt level of academic achievement possible, a commitment to excellence and ultimately, to achieve their fullest potential as well rounded citizens who contribute to their community and world.

We are proud that our high school experience offers so much more than the end product. We offer and encourage our students to participate in extracurricular activities to reinforce core values of respect, responsibility, citizenship and tolerance. Goal setting is important, and has been shown to positively encourage academic success. Please take the time to establish at least one academic and one personal goal with your child for this school year.

Each month you will be receiving The High School Insider and a new publication, The High School Years. The purpose of these publications will be to provide busy parents news of what is “happening” in our high school and also to provide practical ideas that promote school success, parent involvement, and more effective parenting.

I look forward to working in partnership with our school community as we build our next generation of leaders.

Together in education,

Laura J. Marlow, Principal
AuSable Valley High School
