Baseball Field Fundraiser Update:

We just wanted to give the public an update on our fundraising efforts to improve the AVCS AuSable Forks baseball facilities, including the big red historical bleachers that mean so much to so many.

We have received so many stories from donors of their memories of these bleachers. We are overwhelmed with joy with the response and support that we have received to date for this community project. At this point, one month in, we have reached a little over $8,000.00 dollars of our $10,000.00 goal!!

Anyone still wishing to donate can do so two ways as we accept any size donation.

1. Make a check out to the AVCS Booster Club and in the memo please put for baseball project and then mail the check to Randy Douglas at 31 Aspen Lane, Jay, N.Y. , 12941.

2. We have a go fund me page set up and you can send funds electronically to https://www.gofundme.com/f/upgrades-avcs-baseball-facilities-au-sable-forks .

We will be doing other fundraisers over the next few months. One that is already scheduled is for Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at 20 Main Tavern in which will include a silent auction, music, baseball decorations, and uniforms from teams of the past, and celebrity servers. A big thank you goes to Dave and Jean Wiswell, the owners of 20 Main, for assisting us with this overall fundraising project.

Additionally, I want to mention that Au Sable Valley Superintendent, Paul Savage, has been very supportive and has committed budgeted funds with the amount yet to be determined to help with the overall project plans. The first scheduled improvements will be announced at a later date for this fall. The bleachers boards that are deteriorated will be replaced, the roof on the bleachers will be replaced with a blue covered metal roof, the backside of the bleachers will be jacked up and concrete placed to get the bleachers back level. Then the bleachers will be painted. This first project will be on a weekend this fall with all the work being done by volunteers. If anybody is interested in helping, please call or text 518-569-3582.

In the near future we are also plan on putting up a plaque at the facilities listing all the donor’s names. If you wish to donate, in memory of someone, please note that on the donation. More updates will be coming soon including an announcement related to the work bee weekend.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone for supporting this project.

Sincerely, Randy Douglas
