KES Awards and Recognition

Brielle Laundree, 6th Grader, “CFES Brilliant Pathways Elementary School Poster Contest” Winner, 2018: Most creative poster with an impactful college message.

Tim Butler, “Smart/Mather VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award” for 2017-2018: The judges for this award were impressed with Tim’s commitment to making sure his students understand the importance of citizenship as well as the responsibilities that entails

“College For Every Student School of Distinction” for seven of the last eight years, 2016-2017, 2015-2016, 2014-15, 2013-2014, 2012-2013, 2010-2011, 2009-2010: for implementing a plan that encourages all students to consider college, to be leaders and to help out in the community

ISAB (I Stand Against Bullying) Anti-Bullying Video – “Greatest Impact on the Community Award,” 2016: For developing an anti-bullying video produced by students that had a large overall impact on the awareness and reduction of bullying in the community.

“Cool Schools Award” – Keeseville Elementary School was named a “Cool School” by ABC 22/Fox 44 on February 3rd, 2016 because of its commitment to early college awareness (see this link: http://www.mychamplainvalley.com/news/cool-school-keeseville-elementary-school )

Kevin Hulbert – “Families Together in the Adirondacks STAR Award for 2015”: for the support Mr. Hulbert has shown to the families of the Adirondacks

ISAB (I Stand Against Bullying) Anti-Bullying “Best Actor Award – Male” for David Butler-KES 5th Grader, 2015: For best overall performance in an anti-bullying video produced by students in the North Country

“ISAB (I Stand Against Bullying) Anti-Bullying Video Award,” 2014: 1st Place, on the Elementary Level , for the best anti-bullying video produced by students in the North County

20/20 Growth Score on 3rd-6th Grade ELA/Math State Assessments for 2013-2014:Highest possible growth score on New York State Assessments for 3rd-6th graders (Score was provided by the New York State Education Department)

KES Accepted into NEU (No Excuses University), 12/1/2103: KES has proven their commitment to help every student become successful. KES is only the second school in the state of New York to be accepted into this network of schools (National website: http://noexcusesu.com/about/)

“Wal-Mart Recognition Award, 2012-13”: for having teachers who are willing to “go beyond the call of duty” to help students in a high needs community

Kevin Hulbert-“New York State Elementary Principal of the Year for 2011” Keeseville Principal Mr. Kevin Hulbert has been selected as the 2011 New York State Elementary School Principal of the Year by SAANYS – the School Administrators Association of New York State.

Kevin Hulbert-“National Distinguished Principal for 2011”: This was awarded to all Elementary Principal’s of the Year in the country through the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).

Kevin Hulbert-“Communities of One Champion, 2009-2010”: for being a supporter and champion of the Safe Schools’ Projects and programs in an effort to help all kids be safe in school and in their communities

“Champlain Valley Search and Rescue K-9 Unit Certificate, 2009-2010”: for the extraordinary effort put into a fundraiser for their search and rescue dog

*FSA (Family School Association) 2nd Place Float in the AuSable Forks Labor Day Parade, 2009

“CVPH Appreciation Recognition, 2008-09”: for the donation of over 400 teddy bears to the CVPH youth patients

“National Elementary Honor Society Charter School, 2008-2009”: one of the first one hundred schools to support and provide a National Elementary Honor Society Program.

“Hats On Day Certificate, 2007-2008”: for supporting the Foundation for Children with Cancer Program

“Reading First Grant Implementation Recognition, 2007-2008”: for providing high quality reading instruction (award was given to KES through the New York State Regional Support Center)

“Rapidly Improving/Gap Closing School, 2007-08”: for providing high quality education which has resulted in tremendously improved state assessment scores (award was given to KES from the State Education Department)

“Vermont’s Children’s Hospital Certificate of Appreciation, 2007-2008”: for the school’s involvement and support of the change round-up program to support the hospital

“2007 Sweet Program Appreciation Award”: for supporting the One Work Source Program and the local community
