- Adirondack Interscholastic Athletic VISTA Project Manager
- Description: To help ensure that low-income children/students receive educational services assisting them to build a motivational foundation of supports to ensure lifelong success in school. After-school programming, and athletics expansion and efficiency will allow students to connect to school, therefore increasing attendance and their academic success. These programs will build capacity in developing sustainable solutions and create programs/services that meet the needs of the rural low-income community by motivating students to actively be involved in their learning.
- Responsibilities: The VISTA member will build the capacity of after-school and expanded learning programs that serve low-income children, along with athletic and healthy programs. Their goal is to increase human and financial resources to build capacity of after-school and expanded learning programs that serve low-income children and families. They will also increase opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage with and support local after-school programs, along with growing local awareness of the importance of after-school programs and of national service/volunteerism.
- Adirondack Vista Marketing/Communications Specialist
- Description: This VISTA will assist with the development of recruiting and marketing/communication materials. A comprehensive toolkit for recruiting, communications, and community information will be created. The goal will be to strengthen our tracking systems and develop a pipeline process that increases communication to the community about the VISTA project and all information at Ausable Valley Central School District. All to increase low-income student opportunities and increase the success of the VISTA project.
- Responsibilities: The VISTA member will develop a full marketing plan for Ausable Valley Central School District and the VISTA project with online communication solutions and informational material. This will include logo design, branding guides, along with opportunities to train fellow VISTA members in best practices in marketing and communications.
- Adirondacks AmeriCorps College-Career support VISTA
- Description: To support development in college and career readiness programming for all populations ready to enter college or future training. We hope to strive for excellence and expand programming to ensure all students have the ability to improve their circumstances and find employment in an area of interest. We plan to expand programming to engage students in their future planning. Come join us!
- Responsibilities: Member will develop new marketing processes to increase outreach to all stakeholders- develop communication in various platforms to expand programming and outreach – Support increased networking opportunities by identifying new community partners – Develop college and career readiness programming – Identify areas of programming needed for college and career readiness -Identify new programming that connects to current employment trends and local education programs/training offered- Develop new networks to reach all stakeholders
- Adirondacks AmeriCorps Farm To School VISTA Coordinator
- Description: This is a county wide program through the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Essex County which plans to build the capacity of school food and garden programs. This will ensure that no student goes hungry and no parent must choose between their child receiving a culturally relevant education or getting fed at school. The day-to-day work will involve launching new programs, building sustainability for programming, recruiting and managing volunteers, and fundraising to address community poverty and food access issues within the school community.
- Responsibilities: Work as a team to research, design and implement a multi-faceted educational program to increase local food awareness and consumption in the community and local institutions. Community local food projects include farmers’ market children’s activities (train the trainer), cooking demos, and SNAP/FMNP promotional material creation. The member will also support school gardens through the Farm to School Program.

- Description: To support United Way of the Adirondack Region in providing capacity building resources to non-profit organizations & coalitions that focus on underserved/low income populations throughout the Adirondack Region.
- Responsibilities: To assess the organizational needs of non-profit organizations & coalitions within our region. Develop partnerships, collaborations and coalitions to address high priority Health and Human service needs in Adirondack Region. Develop plan for improving Informational & Referral services and consumer outreach. Develop VISTA measures and data tracking processes
- Adirondacks Service Analyst and Development Specialist
- Description: This is an exciting leadership opportunity as the Service Analyst and Development Specialist will serve as an accessory to the Director of Strategy and Operational Excellence within Behavioral Health Services North’s administrative department. The role will involve improving the array of services available to low income individuals, many of whom are living with mental illness, substance abuse, co-occurring medical conditions, poverty, and factors associated with social determinants of health.
- Responsibilities: Strengthen individual, family, and community life for low-income population by delivering a behavioral health care and human service system that provides an integrated continuum of essential, responsive, and cost effective services. This includes grant writing, strategic planning, data tracking and presentation, and community outreach.
- Adirondacks YMCA Enrichment Specialist – Malone
- Description: Provide positive youth development opportunities to youth in Day Camps and activities! The VISTA member will build capacity through the development of marketing campaigns and structures, in order to ensure the site is serving a demographic representative of the community. This program will target and support low-income families and populations.
- Responsibilities: The VISTA member will become familiar with the YMCA organization to gain an understanding of programming and the foundation of its programs, particularly how they link to supporting low-income families. The VISTA member will develop social media campaigns and other outreach to promote developed family events and new programming developed by the VISTA member.
