Dear AVCS Community Members,
We are pleased to announce that in the District’s on-going effort to support early learning opportunities at AVCS for our children who reside in our district, we will once again be supporting multiple Pre-Kindergarten programs at AVCS for the 2025-2026 school year. Programs will continue to be provided at multiple sites within our School District in both AuSable Forks and Keeseville. We expect the Fall classes to begin on or about September 2nd, 2025.
The AuSable Valley Central School District’s Pre-Kindergarten Early Childhood Program allows us to offer a free and high quality educational environment for children who are 4 years of age on or before December 1st, 2025, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or disability.
Both AuSable Forks and Keeseville Elementary will be offering a Pre-K classroom. All Pre-K classrooms will be full day programs open to families of the District. Pre-K students that are four years old at the time school starts will be bussed to and from the Pre-K sites. If your child is 3 years old at the time school starts, parents will need to provide transportation to and from the Pre-K sites until the Pre-K child turns 4 years of age. Breakfast and lunch will be provided under the provisions of our school lunch program.
Parents or Guardians interested in registering their children for the 2025-2026 school year must contact the District Central Registrar’s Office for an enrollment packet by calling or emailing Tonya Darrah (518-834-2800 ext. 3725 or email darrah.tonya@avcsk12.org).
All completed enrollment packets must be sent to Tonya Darrah, 1273 Route 9N, Clintonville, New York 12924 and must be received by the deadline date of May 9th, 2025. The program will have a limited number of openings and if necessary a lottery process will be used by the District to select students for the program, thus, it is imperative to meet the May 9th deadline to get accepted into this program.
After the May 9th deadline, we will notify parents in writing of their child’s acceptance and we will notify them of a screening date in August so we can evaluate children before classes start in September.
We continue to be very excited about this terrific opportunity and look forward to working together to provide high quality Pre-Kindergarten Programs for the children of our communities.
